Glimpses of Her Higher Calling

See how I live life day to day, as a wife, as a pastor's wife, as a mom of 2 adults, as a child of God.

She called me by my name…

Today, while traveling thru Seattle by myself, I stopped at a Wendy’s in the airport. It had self serve menus at little kiosk like things. I ordered and paid and nothing asked my name and I wondered if they would call a number maybe. I rounded the little corner and less than a minute later heard “Kerin”. Totally shocked I thought she doesn’t know my name so she must not be calling me. But she called again. I approached gently as if waiting for someone to pass me for the delicious frosty in her hand. But it was me! And I was amazed! How did she know? Maybe my debit card? I wished I had gotten her name to thank you. She had no idea the thoughts she provoked. It led me to think how important a name is and that we use them. It also led me to think of a man with a name that holds healing. Jesus! What a beautiful name it is! What a wonderful name it is! What a powerful name it is! What a healing name it is! And HE knows my name! John 10:3 tells us His sheep know His voice and He calls them by name! The brief interaction with this nice lady that called me by name was a profound reminder from Him! I pray He tugs at your heart with these seemingly small daily interactions. I pray you remember that He knows your name and you know His voice! Love you lots!! ~Kerin
