Glimpses of Her Higher Calling

See how I live life day to day, as a wife, as a pastor's wife, as a mom of 2 adults, as a child of God.

Today I worked from home! The internet was down at school so I got to bring my computer home and work. Since we moved to Craig, in October of 2020, I have worked outside the home full-time. Currently we are still not paid to pastor (in the form of a paycheck) and although our reward is definitely not about a paycheck we still have bills to pay. Our status is full time ministry but not paid ministry. If that makes sense…?? I long for the day when I am not constricted by the 9-5 (or 8-5 lol) and can help Jeremy with ministry all day. See when someone is paid to do ministry it isn’t the ministry they are being paid for it’s so their time is freed up to be there when you or your family or someone else’s family has a minister that day. It’s so we can concentrate on the ministry at hand whether it’s packing food boxes that day or cleaning the church or ministry to our spouse. You name it and your minister and his wife probably take care of it. At least in small community churches anyway. Aunt Jillie Jane’s faucet needs repair, Granny Jane needs groceries, George Raymond has fallen ill and would like you to come pray. (All of those names and scenarios are made up of course but you get the picture.) Working all day doesn’t take away from my responsibilities so I do a lot at night and try to keep house and make sure my husband is also taken care of. Maybe sooner rather than later, I can be home more. It’s on my prayer list. What’s on your prayer list today? And could you be of service to your local church by doing even the smallest chore?
