Glimpses of Her Higher Calling

See how I live life day to day, as a wife, as a pastor's wife, as a mom of 2 adults, as a child of God.

Embracing the ordinary

Lately I’ve been having some very “ordinary” days lately and I love that! I’m living days I’ve prayed and dreamed of! I was about to say “nothing fancy” but every moment is fancy when you think about it. We should normalize fancy! 🤭

When I say ordinary, I mean doing house/wife stuff. No big agenda except what to cook or clean or what the next minute brings. The occasional (sometimes frequent) chance to minister through the day. I’ve adjusted well to it having an 8-5.

The sound of the dryer in the background and sometimes rain. A candle burning and a few minutes to sit and read here and there.

Some would be bored. The rest (like the action of being still) has been a struggle but I’m learning. Each season is different. Some are harder than others. Each though is full of lessons and blessings, if you just look for them. If you spend quiet moments looking at and for the One blessing you and teaching you, the realization that ordinary is extraordinary will begin to sink in!

Rock the baby, hold the bottle, fold the clothes, make the supper, read your Bible, drink your water, stretch, look out the window, listen to the sounds of your surroundings. Whatever your day looks like, embrace it! Seasons change and hopefully so do we! But He never does! And He loves us! And that fact alone is extraordinarily amazing! But it’s also a constant! You can’t change that fact! Look at His creation today! And enjoy the day! Normalize your ordinary as extraordinary! 🥰
