And coffee!!
Well as a pastor wife sometimes I fail. The other morning at almost 7 the phone rang. The house phone. Yes, we have one. I scurry to the kitchen. Not an easy thing for me to jump out of bed and hurry. I pick up the phone – “hello” in an aggravated sleepy voice. “Are you home?” It took every once of my being not to have a sarcastic remark. Like, no this is my answering service. 🤭😳 don’t worry, I didn’t. The person on the other end quickly changed to a male voice. “In the door open?” “Well actually I was just waking up when you called so no it isn’t.” Thank God for Grace right!? I needed it. The people on the phone should have received more than they got. But also they got less than what was gonna come out.
I ended it as nice as I could. And poured some coffee. I asked God to forgive me.
I wasn’t mean BUT I wasn’t dripping with honey either. Pastor wives (especially if you live in a parsonage connected to the church) are required to give all hours of the day. No office hours! And they don’t happen with convenience sometimes. Or rarely. And I am usually very gracious. But snatched from a slumber and wandering what day it is grace doesn’t flow freely from my lips.
There it is. Rawness. Realness. I was hoping the rest of the day would be better. 🫤
“Are you home?” Also my thoughts … I think I am. Is my car here? Jeremy are we home? Am I dreaming? LOL!! 😂
In the morning when I rise…I try to meet Jesus for coffee before any interaction. Jesus and caffeinate and pray for the best. 🤷🏻♀️
I love you all! And thanks for allowing me to be real! And still love me! Have you sat with Jesus today? He loves us to! Kerin
